Calgary

Calgary Support Group Meetings are held the last Monday of every month at the Carewest facility, Glenmore Park (right next to the Rocky View Hospital) off 14th Street S.W. Calgary, at 7.00pm.

When you drive in to the parking lot, park your vehicle and get a free parking pass from the reception desk.  This has to be displayed on the dash, even if you are in the disabled parking and have a disabled sticker, no exceptions.

The meetings are held in the physiotherapy department – the door directly behind the reception desk.  Both in-patients, outpatients and amputees in general, are cordially invited to attend.  Coffee is available.

At these meetings, new and mature amputees and their families are asked to come together to discuss a variety of topics - the most important being of course, rehabilitation following an amputation.  We believe that the quality of life for all amputees is enhanced through participation and interaction with other amputees, which improves one social, emotional and physical well-being.  We provide moral support to new and existing amputees, both young and old alike

“Thanks of appreciation go out to the Recreation Therapy department and the Social Work staff of the Carewest facility for their assistance to AASRA with this program”.

Grande Praire

Grande Prairie Support Group Meetings are held the last Wednesday of every month at the A & W restaurant at 7.30pm .  Everyone is welcome to come on out and have a coffee and chat.

You may have a concern that others in the group can help you with.  You may be a family member who is not coping with the new amputee.  You might be doing just fine, but could be a big help to a new amputee in the group. Whatever the reason - we welcome you to our monthly meetings.
