Calgary Support Group Meetings are held the last Wednesday of every month at the Carewest facility, Glenmore Park (right next to the Rocky View Hospital) off 14th Street S.W. Calgary, at 7.00pm. Thank you to Social Workers Charlotte and Sharon When you drive in to the parking lot, park your vehicle and get a free parking pass from the reception desk. This has to be displayed on the dash, even if you are in the disabled parking and have a disabled sticker, no exceptions. The meetings are held in the physiotherapy department – the door directly behind the reception desk. Both in-patients, outpatients and amputees in general, are cordially invited to attend. Coffee is available. At these meetings, new and mature amputees and their families are asked to come together to discuss a variety of topics - the most important being of course, rehabilitation following an amputation. We believe that the quality of life for all amputees is enhanced through participation and interaction with other amputees, which improves one social, emotional and physical well-being. We provide moral support to new and existing amputees, both young and old alike “Thanks of appreciation go out to the Recreation Therapy department and the Social Work staff of the Carewest facility for their assistance to AASRA with this program”. For further information please contact Gwen Davies at info@aasra.ab.ca |
