22nd Annual Alberta Amputee Open

July 15 & 16, 2023 in Sherwood Park, AB

Greetings Members, Family and Friends:

On behalf of the Board of Alberta Amputee Sports and Recreation Association, I would like to thank you for your participation in the Alberta Annual Amputee Golf Tournament held at The Broadmoor Public Golf Club on July 15 and 16, 2023.  The weather, although a little smoky, was hot and a small one club wind at times.

We had a great turnout this year, with 44 players from around the province and one from British Columbia. The tournament was set up in 4 divisions, Stoke Play Gross, Stroke Paly Net, Stableford and Associate Stroke Play Gross. Congratulations to the following winners:

Amputee Gross:  Bob MacDermott (Champion), Austin Hinchey (Runner-up), and Vic McClelland (Third Place)

Amputee Net:  Ivan Hlavenka (Champion)Patrick Griffin (Runner-up), and Larry Matthews (Third Place)

Amputee Stableford:  Ron Riley (Champion:), Kelvin Lim Tak-Chi (Runner-up), and Cory Galloway** (Third Place)

**An error was made at the announcement of winners as we later realized that Timothy Campbell is in the "Associate" category and not the "Stableford Amputee" category.  Apologies go out to both Cory and Timothy.

Associate Gross:  Spencer Easthope (Champion) and Garry Landry (Runner-up)

Below are photos of our winners. Presenting to each winner is AASRA President Vic McClelland, and/or Tournament Director (and AASRA Vice-President) Bob MacDermott.
